This unassembled plastic model kit of a lunar module (LM) was built and sold by Revell, Inc. The box art appealed to prospective consumers with an artist's imagining of what it would look like for an astronaut to stand on the lunar surface in front of the LM. The details and proportions of the LM as well as those of the astronaut's spacesuit indicate that this illustration -- and the model that it accompanied -- were completed while the designs for the Apollo program were still being developed. This model was found in the collection.
