Among the items issued to astronauts are velcro-backed leather name tags that can be attached to flight suits. This name tag is a spare for Shuttle astronaut Karol J. Bobko, who was the pilot for STS-6 and commander of STS 51-D and STS 51-J.

NASA transferred a number of spare astronaut name tags to the Museum over the years, including this one in 2001.
