This is a Gemini G2-G spacesuit that the B. F. Goodrich Company (BFG) made for testing while NASA was planning the Gemini program in 1962. The suit features changes that NASA requested from the first GX1-G spacesuits that BFG submitted to the program. Its most notable feature is the aluminized outer fabric that NASA and BFG selected for its thermal vacuum properties. BFG based the design of this suit on the lessons from the Mercury spacesuits. As this was a developmental suit, it was not built for a particular individual.
NASA Manned Spacecraft Center transferred this spacesuit to the Museum in 1968 after the Gemini program ended.
