This souvenir purse was produced for sale in the visitor center at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, circa 1984. It features NASA's "worm" logo and the the logo for "Spaceport USA," as the Kennedy Space Center was known. The purse is in the shape and style of a vintage airline bag with contrasting trim along the seams. The American public has enjoyed touring the Kennedy Space Center since its visitor center opened in 1967, purchasing souvenirs of their engagement with the space program. This purse is an example of the types of souvenirs that tourists could purchase to preserve their memories of that experience.
