This is a Carlisle Mark II Rock A Chute flying rocket model, the second such model designed by flying model pioneers Orville H. Carlisle and Vern Estes. The model has a Kraft paper body, balsa fins, plastic nose, and a plastic parachute. A solid propellant rocket motor propels the model, and then at the end of the vertical flight it forces the release of the parachute. The model is then retrieved and can be used again.
This model was donated by G. Harry Stine.
