This simulator was known as the Lunar Module Procedures Simulator Crew Station. It was used to orient Lunar Module (LM) crew members to the operation of the actual LM vehicle. It also served to validate procedures and inter-crew tasks. Realistic simulation was provided for the LM flight phases including lunar orbit, descent to the surface, and ascent and rendezvous with the command module. Multiple controller consoles were necessary for ground support personnel who were required to support the simulator functions.
