Each astronaut has a personal hygiene kit with selected products for cleanliness, grooming, and comfort. Some crew members sleep better when they wear ear plugs and a mask to block ambient noise and light. These ear plugs from John Young's sleep kit were returned from the first Space Shuttle mission in 1981.
Transferred from NASA to the Smithsonian Institution in 1982.
