Join a team of storm-chasing scientists on their daring quest to witness the birth of a tornado. Armed with an arsenal of the most advanced weather instruments ever created and a fleet of customized, armored vehicles, filmmaker and star of TV's Storm Chasers Sean Casey takes you on a thrilling ride directly into the paths of these destructive storms. You will feel as though you are braving hail, heavy rain, and high winds as you ride into the heart of the storms.
Filmmaker and star of TV's Storm Chasers, Sean Casey, and Karen Kosiba, a scientist featured in the film, will appear with two of the vehicles used in the movie, the Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV) and the mobile radar unit known as Doppler on Wheels (DOW), at the Udvar-Hazy Center on October 21 from 1:00-5:00 PM. The TIV will remain on display through Oct. 23. In addition, a DOW will be on display as part of the Center’s Air & Scare family day Oct. 29. The vehicles will be parked in front of the building.
