Did you know that the National Air and Space Museum has a Mothership model from Close Encounters of the Third Kind on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center? Join curator of the Social and Cultural Dimensions of Spaceflight Collection Margaret Weitekamp as she highlights this prominent movie filming miniature and discusses the art of building physical models for television and movie filming.

Meet at the nose of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird in the Boeing Aviation Hangar.
