Flying the Feathered Edge: An Evening Celebrating Bob Hoover

Join the National Air and Space Society for commentary on the recent documentary film, Flying the Feathered Edge, which chronicles the career of aviator Robert A. "Bob" Hoover.

Robert A. “Bob” Hoover is considered by many to be our greatest living aviator and has influenced generations of pilots with his precision flying and gentlemanly demeanor.  Nicknamed “the Pilot’s Pilot” by his peers, Bob is largely unknown outside aviation circles despite his staggering array of accomplishments.

While the 94-year-old pilot will not be in attendance, Flying the Feathered Edge captures every nuance of Bob’s amazing life story by skillfully interweaving vintage still images, rare historic footage, and exclusive testimonials from other flight legends past and present—bringing this legend’s incredible life and story into the limelight.

Selections from Flying the Feathered Edge will be presented by Kimberly Furst, who directed, produced, and wrote the screenplay.  She will be joined by Sean Tucker, National Aviation Hall of Fame aerobatic pilot, and Museum curator Dorothy Cochrane.
