Celebrate the global feats in the fields of science, math, technology, and engineering. Meet scientists and engineers who are active in fields such as robotics, aerospace design, and aviation, and develop your own skills through hands-on activities. This family day is presented in collaboration with Smithsonian Latino Center.

Timed presentations will take place in the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar at the nose of Space Shuttle Discovery.

All Day Activities

Join in career talks and hands-on activities hosted by local science, technology, engineering, and math professionals. Activities will take place in various locations in the Udvar-Hazy Center.

  • Meet Latino STEM professionals participating in the Smithsonian Latino Center’s iDescubra! Meet the Science Expert Series.
  • Make puff mobiles and snap circuits with the Society of Women Engineers Baltimore Washington Section.
  • Talk to St. Thomas More Cathedral School students about their STMSAT-1 CubeSat satelitte that was launched from the International Space Station in May 2016. 
  • Try hands-on learning through discussion with Museum Discovery Stations and Interactives.
  • Explore how nuclear power is used to create electricity with the U.S. Women in Nuclear Global organization. 
  • Participate in da Vinci Challenge: Build a Drone Workshop hands-on activities with the Kashmir World Foundation staff.
  • Program an Ozobot to complete its mission to discover and explore a new planet. 
  • Try your hand at the Paper Airplane Design Challenge.
