Glove Helix: Spacesuit Glove Materials, Conservation and Display

Learn about the spacesuit glove helix display, the centerpiece of "Outside the Spacecraft: 50 Years of Extra-vehicular Activity," on view at the Museum in Washington, DC January 8 through June 8, 2015. Spacesuit gloves are one of the most important pieces of technology developed for a spacesuit. Objects conservator Lisa Young shares the variety of materials used in spacesuit gloves and the challenges of conserving and displaying them.
