  4. Welcome New AirSpacers!

Hello new friends! We’re AirSpace: A podcast, a newsletter, events, and just a group of Space Cadets sharing our love of all things air and space. We’re from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.

If you’ve landed on this page you want to listen to our podcast. We’re so glad you’re here! But our back catalogue of episodes is huuuuge now (10 whole seasons!!) so where do you start? AirSpace (the podcast) is not serialized so you can really start anywhere that seems interesting.

But with that in mind, allow us to recommend a few of our favorite episodes. (All these can be found wherever you get podcasts, but these links go to our website. We don't wanna assume where you’re listening, new bestie.)

If you like what you hear, follow us on your favorite podcast platform, find us on Instagram and X, sign up for our newsletter, or share us with your friends!

If the World Was Ending

Are you a sci-fi nerd? Us too. A while ago we looked at that time a radio play about an alien invasion started a panic…or did it?

Sea-Tac Airport

Love at First Flight

If you love Rom Coms the way we do, check out this episode where we talk about our favorite rom com character, the airport.

The Suicide Squad

This episode proves the story of how the Jet Propulsion Lab was founded has everything: rockets, accidental and on-purpose explosions, cults, communism and more!

A huge flying boat painted red and yellow sprays massive amounts of water from its fuselage.

Smoke from a Distant Fire

You can dive back into our archives for a look at smokejumping and fighting fires with aviation in Host Matt’s favorite (and maybe follow it up with our recent episode about Super Scoopers).

The Ninety-Nines

Also an oldie and a goodie, Host Emily’s favorite about the early women’s aviation group, The 99s.
