Apollo 50 at the Udvar-Hazy Center

The Museum's marquee Apollo 50 celebration is centered around Washington, DC, but there is still an opportunity to celebrate Apollo 11 at the Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia. 

Launch Celebration

We're opening early at 9 am on July 16 to celebrate the launch of Apollo 11. Watch footage of the 9:32 launch and enjoy hands-on activities all day, including an Apollo 11 scavenger hunt, Walking on the Moon virtual reality experience, and discovery stations. Learn more.

Story Time

Every day from July 15 to July 19 we'll have lunar story time at 11:00 am and 11:30 am featuring Hare and Tortoise Race to the Moon. Learn more.

"Driven to Explore" NASA Mobile Exhibit

Explore the inner workings of the International Space Station with this immersive exhibit showcasing how astronauts improve life on Earth and in space. July 15 and 16 from 12 to 5:30 pm.

Docent Tours

Take a specialized Apollo 11 highlights tour occuring throughout the day during anniversary week.

See Apollo 11 artifacts on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center, including the Apollo 11 Mobile Quarantine Facility, Apollo 11 flotation collar and bags, and Apollo 11 boilerplate command module.
