Wiley Post's helmet, from the world's first practical pressure suit, is examined by conservators under ultra-violet light. The ultra-violet light helped the conservators learn more about the corrosion products and coatings applied to the helmet so that they could create an appropriate treatment plan. The helmet was taken off of display after white corrosion deposits were noticed on the metal and sent to the Emil Buehler Conservation Laboratory in Chantilly, Virginia.
