Curtiss P-40 Warhawk Shark Nose Art

This American Volunteer Group Curtiss P-40 Warhawk shows off its shark-mouth nose art. This famous nose art was used in late 1941 and 1942. Fighting units from both the Allies and Axis adorned their fighters and bombers with the faces of sharks, tigers, dragons, even parrots and bats, during World War II, which is a practice that has continued to the present day.
