Aeronautical and automotive manufacturer Vincent Bendix established the Bendix Trophy for long-distance racing in 1931. Jimmy Doolittle received this presentation version of the trophy for his victory in the inaugural race. The Bendix Trophy is on display in the Museum’s Golden Age of Flight gallery.
