The Jupiter C launch vehicle is raised in the Space Hall following the positioning of Vanguard, left, Minuteman, center, and Scout D, right, ca. 1975. Opening its doors on July 1, 1976, the National Air and Space Museum quickly became the most popular museum in the world.
