"Translation. The President of The Republic of China and Madame Chiang Kai-Shek request the pleasure of your company at a reception on Tuesday the First of May, Nineteen Hundred Fifty-Six at the Taipei Government Guest House from five to seven o'clock p.m. Dress: Uniform." Item stapled into scrapbook assembled by Agatha Davis containing invitations she and her husband Brigadier General Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., received during 1955 and 1956 when he was Commander, US Air Force Air Task Force 13 (Provisional), Taipei, Taiwan; original Chinese-language invitation is located underneath the translation.
