: Tenente (Lieutenant) Felice Figus (on the right pointing) and a group of other pilots from the 368° Sturmo stationed at Palermo, Sicily in June 1943 passing time in between missions playing a game of bocce near a Macchi 202. At this time, Lt. Figus served with the 372° Sturmo “Ace of Clubs” stationed at the same airfield. Allied forces would invade Sicily one month after this photograph on July 9 and complete its liberation on August 17. Italy would surrender on September 8, 1943.
