NASA’s new Earth Information System (EIS) delivers analysis-ready products for use by scientists and non-scientists alike. In this Exploring Space lecture, Christa Peters-Lidard, deputy director of the science and exploration directorate at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, will provide an overview of EIS’s three pilot studies:
- EIS-Fire, which uses active fire and fire emissions data to support fire and air quality forecasting
- EIS-Freshwater, which describes NASA water cycle science in a straightforward manner to be used and understood by a range of people
- EIS-Sea Level Change, which integrates models and observations to study the impacts of Greenland ice sheet melt on sea level change.
The Exploring Space Lecture Series is made possible by the generous support of Aerojet Rocketdyne and United Launch Alliance.
