    A humorous drawing by Gris from "L'Assiette au Buerre" of French policeman trying to stop a pilot seated at the controls of a Wright-type biplane from taking off. The caption reads:

    "Arrêtez !... Si vous étiez un oiseau, vous pourriez voler... mais comme vous êtes un homme, il vous faut la permissions des autorités compétentes."

    [Stop! If you were a bird, you could fly ... but as you are a man, you need the permission of the competent authorities.]
