Skylab Parasol Heat Shield

Two seamstresses stitch together the parasol sunshade for the Skylab Orbital Workshop. Without the heat shield, the temperature inside the Orbital Workshop became dangerously high, rendering the workshop uninhabitable and threatening onboard equipment and experiments.  Engineers and scientists at Marshall Space Flight Center worked tirelessly around the clock on the emergency repair procedure.
