• Steel arriving for the Udvar-Hazy Center Space Hangar

    Steel is now arriving for the Space Hangar. Assembly is similar to that for the Aviation Hangar, but on a smaller scale. The first three vertical columns are in place, supported by thrust blocks. The sides are vertical, as compared to the rounded sides of the Aviation Hangar. The arched horizontal beams are being assembled on the ground and will be lifted into place; they will form the roof.
