• German Zeppelin Staaken R.IV Model

    The German Zeppelin Staaken R.IV was the largest bomber produced during World War I.  With a wingspan of 102 inches, this model is the largest exhibit model aircraft ever produced for the National Air and Space Museum.  It was constructed in 1991 by a team from the Smithsonian’s Office of Exhibits Central for the museum’s Legend, Memory, and the Great War in the Air gallery.
