Loening OA-1A "San Francisco"

The famed Loening Amphibians, like this one on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, featured heavily in Prohibition-era smuggling on both sides. They were particularly effective at running rum in from the Bahamas to south Florida, while the Coast Guard used them effectively to high speed smuggling boats.
