Sun - June 17, 2011

This image of the Sun's chromosphere was taken on Friday, June 17, 2011. Few prominences were visible that day, however, one faint prominence can be seen in the lower left. The prominence is most likely lifting away from the surface of the Sun. This image of the Sun was taken with a Lumenera SKYnyx 2-2 camera attached to a Lunt 100mm hydrogen-alpha telescope.
