    The Sun in hydrogen-alpha light. Photo taken on Nov 2, 2011 at 11:40 am.

    This image of the Sun offers a glimpse of the enormous sunspot group AR 1339 as it just started to rotate into view.  The large dark spot is over five times the size of the Earth, and it is only part of a complex of sunspots about 80,000 km long.
