Ed White Completes First American Spacewalk
On June 3, 1965, Edward White became the first American to walk in space. (Soviet cosmonaut Aleksei Leonov was the first person to do so.) Note the maneuvering gun in his right hand and his Gemini IV spacecraft reflected in his visor.
