In addition to building the world’s first airplane, the Wright brothers pioneered the modern practice of aeronautical engineering. Central to this was the design and use of their wind tunnel. The original Wright wind tunnel no longer exists. This accurate reproduction was built by the National Cash Register Company in 1952, and now resides in the Museum's collection.
