Conservation
Christine Haynes started at National Air and Space Museum as Objects Conservator in 2022 as part of the Transformation Project. She was previously the Associate Objects Conservator at Preservation Arts in Oakland, California where she focused on the conservation of modern and contemporary sculpture and public art. Christine received a Master of Science in The Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works and a Master of Arts in the History of Art and Archeology in 2018 from the Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts of New York University. She has trained at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Cleveland Museum of Art, Aphrodisias Excavations in Turkey, and the Barbara Goldsmith Preservation and Conservation Center at NYU Libraries. Her research interests are in conservation ethics and the preservation of modern materials, especially plastic polymers and composite objects. Christine is a Professional Member of the American Institute of Conservation (AIC).
