Museum Registration Specialist

Bio

Marcy Borger began working at the National Air and Space Museum in 2008 and has worked on a variety of projects including collections rehousing and surveying, artifact storage planning and upgrades, photography, inventory, and emergency preparation. Prior to working in Registration, she was a Shipping and Receiving manager for the Collections Processing Unit for four years. She has participated as a Collections Representative on the following gallery teams: Moving Beyond Earth, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, Early Flight, and At Home in Space. Presently she coordinates incoming loans and serves as the manager of the Incoming Loan Program. Marcy serves on the National Air and Space Museum Outgoing Loans Committee. She is an active member of the Smithsonian Loans Forum serving on the Incoming Loans Subcommittee and previously has served as both Vice-Chair and Chair. In 2014, Borger was awarded the Peer Award from her National Air and Space Museum colleagues.

Borger holds a Masters degree in Museum Studies from the George Washington University with an academic major in Collections Management and a Bachelors degree with honors from The University of Pittsburgh with majors in history and anthropology.
