Administration Associate Director, External Affairs
Bio

As the associate director of External Affairs, Meg Caulk provides leadership for Advancement, Communications and Special Events. Caulk has been with the museum for over two decades. In her current role, she is responsible for the Museum’s fundraising and management of the Museum’s Board. Her operational oversight includes both the Museum in Washington, DC, and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia. Her team works to connect with audiences on site, in the region, across the country and around the world. 

Prior to joining the Smithsonian, Caulk was with event planning firms Barbara Boggs Associates Inc. and WashingtonInc. She began her career in public relations at Kroloff, Marshall and Associates. A background in public relations and destination management has given her a unique and comprehensive perspective on the hospitality industry. Caulk has served on the board and Executive Committee of DestinationDC and as president of the Special Events Sites Marketing Alliance Board. A graduate of Sweet Briar College, Caulk holds a bachelor’s degree in English with a Business Management minor.
