Bio
Sofia Soto Sugar serves as a Program Coordinator in the Education Department, coordinating logistics and supporting content creation for a variety of digital and in-person public events including lectures, family days, and the young professional satellite brand, AirSpace.
Working at the museum since 2020, Sofia is passionate about making learning and education approachable, relevant, and entertaining. Her previous roles were in the world of outdoor, experiential education.
Sofia earned a B.A. in Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a focus on International Politics and Social Movements in Latin America. She is particularly interested in historic and present overlap of social justice in the U.S. South and South America, as well as the sociopolitical significance of pop culture.
