    ALAN D. SINE was born in Waltham, MA December 5, 1954. He received a commission from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1976 and served aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Morgenthau and the 3rd Coast Guard District Naval Engineering staff in New York City. He received his Wings at NAS Whiting Field, Milton, FL in March 1979 and flew the HH52A helicopter at Coast Guard Air Station (CGAS) Corpus Christi, TX until August 1983 when he returned to The Navy Training Command at Whiting Field as a T34C primary flight instructor.

    In 1986 he transitioned to the HU25A (Dausault Falcon 20 fan jet) and was assigned to CGAS Borinquen, Puerto Rico. He transferred to CGAS Miami in June 1987 where he became an aircraft commander, flying drug intercept missions and completed Flight Safety Officer training at the Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, CA.

    In July 1990 he became OPS officer at C3I East, a joint U.S. Customs/U.S. Coast Guard air interdiction facility. He returned to CGAS Miami for his final Coast Guard duty assignment in June 1993 flying the Schweitzer built RG8A Condor single engine motor glider and the CAS A 212 cargo/transport aircraft.

    After completing 18 years of operational Coast Guard service he became a commercial pilot flying for Contintental Connection as a line Captain in the SD3 Shorts 360, and the Beech 1900. In July 1999 he was hired as an Airbus 320 First Officer with U.S. Airways and remained with U.S. Airways until he was furloughed in January 2002. In July 2002 he joined NetJets Aviation fractional share jet company as a Captain in the Cessna (CE560) Citation.

    Alan is also the proud father of three children, Stephanie, Keith, and Caroline.
