    Ms. Donna Athens

Captain Anthony "Papa Tony" Athens felt extremely honored in 1969 when he received the Distinguished Flying Cross while serving in the Army in Vietnam. He, like so many others who have received this award, felt like he had done nothing extraordinary. He was just doing his job, like everybody else. It is in Tony's humble acceptance of this award that I, his wife, take pride.

Tony is an adoring husband, father, and grandfather. His children, Leslie Christine and Karin Marie, inherited their Dad's love for dirt motorcycle riding, and he hopes to start riding again when his grandson, Merrick Rain, is old enough. He has prospered in his diesel business, which he started in 1982, and has worked hard to make life good for his family.

This profile is submitted in loving memory of our daughter, Karin Marie Athens, who died on April 23, 2002.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
