Art Scholl was a member of the U.S. Aerobatic Team for nine years. In 1974, he was the U.S. Aerobatic Champion. He competed in many countries such as Russia, East Germany, France and England. While working on the movie Top Gun Art lost his life filming an inverted flat spin sequence off the southern coast over the Pacific Ocean. Art Scholl was a patron of the United States of America, that he loved, and that shows in the colors of his aircraft.
