Barry J. Locher of Springfield, IL. is a retired award-winning photo journalist and newspaper editor. He is a lifelong air and space enthusiast. In this photograph, he is shown with Astronaut Capt. James Lovell, left, and Academy Award-wining actor Tom Hanks, who portrayed Lovell in the film, “Apollo 13.” Hanks presented the 2010 Lincoln Leadership Prize, bestowed by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation, at a dinner in Chicago. Locher joined Lovell and Hanks in celebration of the astronaut's achievements.

Barry Locher is an avid outdoorsman. He lives in Springfield with his wife, Debra. The couple has three adult children — Tad, Bonnie, and Joseph.
