    A 43-year Cessna Aircraft Company veteran, M. Peterman joined the company in 1953 after spending two years in the engineering department of beech Aircraft Corporation. He became Chief Engineer at Cessna in 1972, Vice president of Engineering in 1981, Vice president of operations in 1987 and Senior Vice President in 1989. His focus on new aircraft development occurred in 1993 and retirement in 1986.
    While at Cessna, he worked on the design and military approval of the USAF T-37 and A-37. The T-37 primary trainer is still in service after more than 40 years. His involvement with commercial business aircraft began in 1961 with the Model 310G and has included every twin engine Cessna since, including every turbofan Citation from the original Model 500 through the technologically advanced complexities of the Mach .92 Citation X.
    Mr. Peterman was a Trustee of the Cessna Foundation and served on the board of Directors of Reims Aviation in France while Cessna had an ownership position.
    He was a member of the University of Kansas Advisory Committee for Aerospace Engineering and a Trustee for the Center of Research. He was on the Industry Advisory Committee for the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State University, recipient of the Distinguished Engineer Service Award in 1993, and a charter and life member of the WSU College of Engineering Deans Circle; past Co-Chair of the Kansas Math and Science Education Coalition and was on the Board of Directors of the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corp.
    Mr. Peterman is a native of Merrill, Wisconsin; received an Assoc. in Arts degree from Spartan College of Aerospace Engineering in Tulsa, OK; a BSAE from Wichita State University in 1955 and an MS in Aerospace Engineering in 1961.
    He is an instrument rated, multi-engine pilot; Associate Fellow of AIAA and served on the Aerospace Council and Technical Board of SAE. He and his wife, Connie, are parents of three children and live near Wichita, Kansas.
