    Buford Whitney Council received his cadet witngs in the Army Air Corps in 1942. He rose to Capt. And flew for the Air Transport Command. After WWII, he served in Africa and the Middle East in C-47s & C-46s. He served with the U. S, Air Force Reserve during the Cuban Missile Crisis and later retired as a Lt. Col. in the USAFR.
