C. W. Wilson was a lifelong lover of all things aeronautical. Having earned his commercial rating, he flew gliders, acrobatic, and other small planes. He built two airplanes, a Fly Baby and a Christen Eagle, both of which he flew extensively before selling them to move on to his next project.
He was co-founder of Low and Slow Airlines ("I'm Low and he's Slow"). The freedom of flight that he enjoyed so much was also expressed in later years with his transition to sailing, which is, in essence, nautical flight.
