    1st Lt. Calvin E. Peterson enlisted in the Army Air Corps November 2, 1952, called to active duty January, 1943, became twin engine pilot May, 1944. In July, 1944 was sent to CBI, China, Burma, and India in Assam India. Assigned to 12th Combat Cargo Squadron, 3rd Group, 10th Air Force, as a C-47 pilot. Flew 229 combat missions supplying Allied troops in Burma. Awards include 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 5 Air medals, 2 Presidential Unit Citations, and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign medal, with two Campaign Stars. Was discharged with the rank of 1st Lieutenant in July, 1945.
