    Capt. Barbour began flying in 1964 as a Naval Aviator with the United States Marine Corps, with combat time in Southeast Asia in 1966 and 1967.
    In 1968, he was hired by United Airlines in Los Angeles, trained in Denver and then assigned to the New York Airports (LGA & JFK0.
    In 1973, he married Susan Westhuf and transferred to Washington, DC for the remainder of his career. He flew the Boeing 727, 737, 757, 767 and the Douglas DC-10 during his 33 year commercial career.
