Air Force Aviation Cadet Class 54J. Training bases at San Antonio, TX, Kinston, NC, and Bryan, TX. Commissioned 2nd Lt. in May 1954. Then to Del Rio, TX for Air-To-Ground. Luke Air Force Base for more Air-To-Ground training in F-84s. George AFB in Victorville, CA for my permanent base (F-86 and F-100). Remained at George AFB until May 1957 in the 435th Fighter Squadron and was discharged.
Had been assigned a class with United Airlines, but the class was delayed so I moved back east and started with Capital Airlines in August 1957. They later merged with United Airlines where I stayed until retirement in December 2001. Flew DC-3, DC-4, DC-6, DC-7, DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, S-210, 737, and 727; and F-86D and F-102 for the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1960 to 1964.
