    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:

I entered the Army 1927, and the Air Corps in 1933. I flew with Gen. Arnold as his radio operator, and was a master sergeant bombardier and navigator on the B-17 Flying Fortress.

In the middle of the war I was commissioned a first lieutenant communication officer with the 2nd Battalion, 415th Regiment, 104th Infantry Division. Our unit took Cologne in the Rhine/Ruhr Valley in March 1945.

I returned to the Air Corps as a master sergeant and was sent to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to recruit and start the Pennsylvania National Guard from scratch. I staid on as an instructor and retired as a first lieutenant in 1952, and was promoted to captain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

I was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster and about ten other awards.
