Former Marine Aviator, VMA-214, Kaneohe MCAS, Hawaii. Flew North American FJ-4B “Furies” and Douglas A4D “Skyhawks”. Selected to fly the last “Fury” on active duty in the Marine Corps on a ferry from Kaneohe to Barbers Point NAS. Flew Douglas F4D “Skyray” in the reserves. Flew 33 years with United Airlines starting in 1963. Flew as S/O and F/O on the DC-6, F/O and Capt. on the B-727 and DC-10. Finished career as Capt. On the B-747 the final six years. Was designated as Line-Check Airman on the DC-10.
