    Emery was in the Air Corps in WW II. He began in 1939 and was a Staff Sgt. pilot after he took a test. He eventually was sent to India as a pilot and the Air Corps made all the St. Sgt. Pilots 1st or 2nd Lts. He flew “over the hump” for 144 combat missions before he came home. Then he flew C-54s between California and the South pacific bringing wounded soldiers home. After the War ended, he joined United Airlines. Flew for 34 years and enjoyed 23 years of retirement.
