Capt. Baker was a B-17 pilot, served with the 493rd Bomb Group, 8th Air Force from August 1944 to July 1945. He flew 29 combat missions, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters. Captain Baker entered the service April 7 1941 and was separated in October 1945.
