This is to recognize Capt Hal Ballatin known as "Ace" to his friends. Hal was a Midwestern boy born on Aug 8,1929 in Chicago. He spent over 35 years at United Airlines. This is to recognize Hal for his enduring passion for flying, for his mentoring skills and for his selfless sharing of his 25000 hours + of experience - experience gained from bi-planes to Boeing 747 to experimentals including a National Aeronautic Association record setting flight between Los Angeles and Phoenix on aug.10 ,1993 at an average speed of 240 mph, in a flight lasting l hour and 30minutes in his high performance Glasair III.
