    Mr. John Baer

Captain Batterman served as a pilot for United Airlines for 26 years. He began his aviation career as an Avionics Technician in the U. S. Army. During the 1970s Captain Batterman was one of a few pilots involved in Projecto Radam, an aerial radar mapping of the Amazon River Region. They provided the first truly accurate maps of a region µ the size of the U.S. These radar maps revealed the first realization of the great loss of rain forest lost to Slash and burn farming. His second mission was conducted in a DC-3 using magnetometers to search for oil and minerals in Columbia.
